It was the successor to the Jaguar Mark VIII and was succeeded by the Jaguar Mark X. The Mark IX had a powerful 3.8-liter six-in-line engine with a capacity of 220 horsepower, coupled to a manual four-speed or three-speed automatic transmission. The car had a top speed of approximately 190 km/h and could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 10 seconds.
